Just Grateful

Day after Christmas, 2.5 days of cooking and my family really enjoyed the food.

Enjoying the love of my family yesterday and today.

The blessings of my health, wealth of money and love in my life!!

No work for me today, resting after the whirlwind of the last few days.

I am so grateful for my life, even during the tough times, I have a good, loving life!!!

Thank You, Christmas!

1.  Christmas was the best ever this year, by far!

2.  Evidence of love in action was everywhere.

3.  Went to a church service on Saturday with electronic guitars, bold lighting, three sermons, and lots of WOW!

4.  Singing Carols with hundreds of people was amazing.

5.  I have always missed Christmas services because of family get togethers, so this was so special!

6.  Being with my son, daughter-in-law and grandsons made it even better.

7.  We all lit each others’ candles at the end, and that was glorious!

8.  Christmas Eve was marvelous, with family and extended family — so much love and laughter.

9.  Christmas morning, with two grandson 6 and 8 — how fun and happy!

10.  The memory of who got what will fade, but the events and loving experiences will last a lifetime!

Holiday Gratitude

1. Mindful of those who don’t celebrate Christmas today- grateful for other faiths, ways of living and looking at the world. If it weren’t for Buddhism, for example, and its prevalence in America, I wouldn’t have access to a fraction of the enlightening material I love so much. Hinduism, with its yogic teachings too. Grateful for all celebrating Hanukkah today too.

2. Grateful for my husband, who is such a hard worker, devoted to our growing family, and thoughtful beyond measure.

3. Grateful for friends

4. Grateful for a day of rest and quiet

5. Grateful for inner peace – the ultimate gift

6. Grateful for holiday beauty- so many amazing decorations & lights

7. Grateful for cooler weather, which resets the air and freshens the earth

8. Grateful for new stories

9. Grateful for the eternal gifts of gratitude

10. So grateful for this moment

Finding Gratitude

My 17 yr old was staying at a friend’s house, when she came back she told me how grateful she is for everything we have and for how hard I work to provide for the whole family, because she now knows that not everyone has the same opportunities as she does.

I am grateful that I can truly provide not only for my family but for others as well, whether it be the Holidays or just any time of year.

I am truly grateful that my 17 year old is learning to be grateful, so many teens don’t see the world beyond themselves.

I am grateful for this time of year, when people seem to allow themselves to give of themselves without feeling akward.

Instead of being a time of unusual behavior, Christmas is perhaps the only time in the year when people can obey their natural impulses and express their true sentiments without feeling self-conscious and, perhaps, foolish.  Christmas, in short, is about the only chance a man has to be himself.  ~Francis C. Christmas Eve Snow

Very grateful for~

God’s extravagant gift to us

full-serve gas stations
warm banana bread
Hugs

getting excited, actually waking up early to see if it had snowed
Snow!
Big Flakes gently falling
It is the falling I am grateful for, not the sticking
The perseverance of those who will arrive despite the sticking

Winter came down to our home one night
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery-toed slippers of snow;
And we, we were children once again. ~ Bill Morgan, Jr.

Nutmeg and Lighted Snow Globes

Very grateful for~

God’s Abundance
Tempering expectations

Gettinglost in reading
Snapping out of it just before the banana bread burned

freshly grated nutmeg— a first for me
Getting cured at the dentist
Lighted snow globes
Prayer
How hot tea in the mug warms my fingers then my hands

Finally I am coming to the conclusion that my highest ambition is to be what I already am. That I will never fulfill my obligation to surpass myself unless I first accept myself, and if I accept myself fully in the right way, I will already have surpassed myself. ~Ingrid Mathieu
