The Eyes of a Baby

  1. My little one slept for 3.5 hours this morning- and so did I!
  2. Feeling rejuvenated
  3. The washer/dryer- where would we be without these incredible inventions?
  4. Eating good food
  5. An abundance of fresh, clean water
  6. Ava’s presence
  7. Tiny fingers
  8. Perfect cheeks
  9. Big, blue eyes
  10. “If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go  far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite,  more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a  little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs  because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.” -Vincent van Gogh

wind gusts and good news

Very grateful for~

God’s yes’es
having enough today

the gusty wind
leaves dancing in a pre-compost Zumba routine

a job until the end of the semester for Amelia!!!!!
her work ethic
many mentors at her school, people who are positive about public education

Dad and I, hearing Amelia’s good news, hugging, hollering, crying, and waving our three hands in the air just like we were extras in a Tyler Perry movie church scene

catching Ruby sipping coffee (i have laughed about this memory a lot)

The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers.  But above all, the world needs dreamers who do. ~Sarah Ban Breathnach

Cake Pops and Dimes

Very grateful for~

God’s promises
the conditions that are requiring me to be still
quietness and trust modeled by others who are now my teachers

the people and things I fear because they serve as NEON signs where my trust must grow

cake pops
a dime on the pavement during our walk
holding on…the right job will arrive
waking up to the sound of rain

family

:) We stood out on the porch before we went inside & she told me her secret. “Pretend you’re just visiting,” she said. “That way you’ll forget that they’re family.” ~Brain Andreas
