Memories and Time Machines

Very Grateful for:
God’s gift of memory
the words, scents, and sounds that trigger memories
more good memories than bad
remembering something I needed to do
watching Dad’s face, the slightest facial gestures as he searches for, and retrieves a memory
remembering a password without having to hit the “forgot password” button
Amelia’s text asking how to make cracker-crumb chicken as she remembered it from home
how memory can have a taste
a walk that began in the dark before sunrise and ended just afterward

We all have our time machines, don’t we. Those that take us back are memories…And those that carry us forward, are dreams. ~H.G. Wells

“by the way thank You for
keeping Your face hidden, I
can hardly bear the beauty of this world.”
Franz Wright, “Cloudless Snowfall”
