Listening and Moving Toward the Answers

Very Grateful for:

God’s caretaking
timing my listening when I am on the phone with someone so I don’t interrupt
no cavities at the dentist (!)
deciding on an alternate path after the dentist appt. instead of returning to workspending a couple of hours with Tim
Crown Devon China
remembering a more languid and gracious past way of living
noticing my procrastination pattern of cleaning to avoid writing
a nice visit with Addie in her beautiful new store

If you live the questions, life will move you into the answers. Mark Nepo

  • An article in the Smithsonian about, of all things, kudzu :)…..
  • ….and the many poems! written about and referring to kudzu
  • Almost finished with Orwell’s 1984….found it among old books in a forgotten box…rescued them back to bookshelves :)

Gratitude do your best.

I have been attending a Bible study and the week I missed they talked about gratitude. Mary Ellen posts a gratitude list every morning the pastor announced. While I’m grateful every day ,I know the power of “putting it out there” so I’m back!

After that subtle nudge the book I was reading last night had profound words on gratitude. The author is living by the rules of the Bible for a year to better understand religion.

Day 263 I find myself becoming an extremist-at least in some areas. LIke with my obsession with gratefulness. I can’t stop. Just now I push the elevator button and I’m thankful it arrives quickly. I get onto the elevator and thankful the elevator cable didn’t snap and plummet me to the basement. I go to the fifth floor and am grateful I didn’t have to stop at the second and third. I get out and am grateful the door is unlocked so I don’t have to rummage through my keys. I walk in and am happy to see my son happy and healthy and stuffing his face with pineapple wedges. And on and on. I’m actually muttering  to myself -thank you, thank you! It’s an odd way to live. But, also great and powerful. I’ve never been so aware of the thousands of good things, the thousands of things that go right every day.

A.J. Jacobs “The Year of Living Biblically”

Today I am grateful for solutions to problems that I know will come

I am not alone. Every thing I face I face with people by my side.

I do not have to do everything myself

I’m grateful for my spiritual journey and my gratitude journey

I’m grateful that there have been amazing things that have happened in my life

I’m grateful that the pumpkin selling time is dwindling down.

Prayer and inspiration

Look for the things that go right today. Yesterday it seemed things weren’t lining up but today I face the world renewed.
