Monthly Archives: February 2016

1. God
2. A cloudy day in Central Park
3. The statue of Alice which I’d never been to – knew of it from the inner sleeve of the Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland, also a picture of Martin Gardner taken there on the back of his edition The Annotated Alice
4. My favorite piece of public art was always the Saint-Gaudens bas-relief of Colonel Shaw’s 54th regiment, on the upper end of Boston Common, but now it’s hard to decide.
5. Alice and the White Rabbit to her left, the Mad Hatter to her right, the dormouse to the near right, the toadstools for seating
6. pictures and conversation
7. soup of the evening (actually we didn’t have any, not even the mock turtle kind)
8. “it’s my own invention”
9. That was really all I could think of that I wanted to see in New York City, though I do love the energy and variety and geography there. Would have liked to have done more shopping or at least browsing, and the stores stay open terribly late. I saw many beautiful dresses in Bergdorf’s including one in coral with a pearl neckline. (The Equestrian is still there, too, at Columbus Circle, on the southern edge of the park.)
10.. What a contrast the next day to visit the Tenement museum and learn from the young guides about the conditions in which people lived and worked (and still do in many places in the world.)
11. Helpful people at the hotel especially the bellman who took care of our car and organized taxis for us.
12. Cassie did most of the driving, which I appreciated since she knew the way.
13. Good to be able to board Peabody with people he knows and trusts.
14. Nice to be greeted at home by affectionate (and hungry) cats.

Enjoying simple things which make them complex

A Coloring Club! Fun! Hope I can go!

Bought a stuffed pig at Christmas time. Now that I want him couldn’t find him. Looked at the mirror in our living room and it was hanging there.
