Holy Guacamole

I have been calm and relaxed but now it’s almost time to leave. Thank you for our women’s retreat in Chautauqua.

Setting a time to leave early Friday morning makes me glad I’m not driving

Daughter who starts asking things of me for Friday and Saturday. The adult feeling of saying “I won’t be here! : )

Need to pack. Grateful for laundry I did. One more load tomorrow. Thank you Sue that I can use your washer.

Need to find an easel. Good assignment for hubby.

Need to review my session.

Do I have everything? Probably not. Grateful for stores in Jamestown,NY.

Coffee for fun I’ll count pots and report back Monday. Late nights and early mornings means lots of coffee.

Now breathe, relax and remember to enjoy!

Ludicrous

Sounds like a name of a character in a Harry Potter book (which I love by the way) but actually means utterly ridiculous. I am grateful for these moments because they give me perspective.

Grateful for the reminder that if I go faster-I go slower. Feeling time pressed I went to do laundry only to transfer one load to another washer. Deep breath enjoy your extra 45 minutes there and know that load is really clean!

Hubby looking for anti-itch cream wakes me up so I am grateful to be up early. He fell right back to sleep.

I told the man next to me at choir that  I have trouble hearing out of my left ear. Not only did he sing  very loudly during the hymn. He took my arm coming off the altar.  Grateful for my sense of humor.

Realizing I left my folder at home I left service to race home. Sermon was still in progress. I picked up his read along and read along till I caught up with him. Grateful I didn’t get a speeding ticket!

Told the financial secretary I had two questions for her about retreat. She said only two I would have expected ten. Grateful only two but what am I missing?

Grateful to be packing. I have covered all the bins with towels because cats get nervous when they see you packing. Grateful we aren’t expecting company!

Door blew open during the storm and Catalina ,an inside cat, was no where to be found. I went out in the rain to search for her but like the Cheshire cat she later reappeared. Grateful she wasn’t outside.

Search for the ridiculous and give thanks for it!

  • Good Morning WLG Friends…..I have a story for you this morning…I’ll make it as brief as possible.
  • In July I posted about GPa falling, going to the ER, having a CT Scan taken….no damage shown, all was well….very Thankful
  • On Sept. 4 GPa had disturbing signs that prompted us to take him again to the ER.
  • A CT Scan showed bleeding on the entire left side of his brain…
  • …He was transported by ambulance (it was early evening and dark, weather was too bad for the mediflight) to Great Falls (90 miles) where they have neurosurgeons.  (Weather didn’t stop son David; he showed up only minutes behind the ambulance.)
  • GPa had brain surgery on Sept. 5 and all went well.  Praise God!
  • He was in the hospital for nine days.  Very Thankful for the neurosurgeon and medical personnel who are skilled and showed us loving hearts!
  • We are completely grateful for our amazing family!  They immediately stopped everything they were doing and came to us from moment one….
  • Thankful to Cathy for giving us organization and holding everything together by keeping family who are not in MT updated….we could all talk by phone and texting for moment to moment updates.
  • Thankful for the abundant blessings of many many healing prayers!
  • God’s Blessings of safe travel for Cathy and I while she drove us to Great Falls each day….only 90 mi. and a beautiful drive…looking on the bright side.
  • God’s continuing Blessings for our granddaughter and family who call every day while GPa recovers.
  • GPa is back to “normal”  and moving his body as much as he can, walking in the yard, etc…..he’s not one to sit around :)
  • And that, my dear friends, is my story today.

Giving out donuts to those who stop

An apple fritter for me

Lightning forces those at street to seek shelter

Another day unsuitable for painting the chapel. Now what can I do instead?

Slow paced-slow moving

Off to library for Laughing Club. So many books so little time!

Checking out those I’m taking on retreat! No peeking!

Enjoy your rainy day!

Full Moon Frenzy

The moon was full last night! Captivating!

Yet the calendar says today. Intriguing?

Now that the weather is cooler the crickets put on a concert  at night. Harmony!

Speaking of harmony ,having difficulty with a song only to find out the guys are singing it while we’re on retreat. Alleluia!

Choir practice. So nice to see everyone. Singing a very fast song Sunday. Sprint spirit!

Retreat a week away. Been a crazy week. Frenzied!

Starting to put things in a bin to go. Excited!

Grateful for a little quiet time. Reflection and relaxation.
