Wednesday, July 5, 2017 Let the domolition begin…..

The demolition of my dining room ceiling has finally begun.  It will be a mess around here the next few days, especially when they start the bathroom.  It will be so nice when it is finished.

Nice men doing the work on my house.

God.

Good food at the restaurant where my son works.

Being able to cash my change in and having over 95 dollars more in my savings.

Being able to remain calm and feeling like I can ask questions of the men doing the work on my house.

Enjoying the fireworks with a neighbor and her friends last night.

Getting up early and getting my head straight for the work to be done today.

My son.

Having time off for this project.

About Karen Teig

I am a 58 year old Native Minnesotan. I work as a Storekeeper at a local hospital here in town. I have been sober since April 18, 1982 and have not smoked since September 8, 2005. I am a Born Again Christian who loves Jesus and am grateful for each day I wake up. I have found that even in the hard times, like after my husband's suicide that I can still find things to be grateful for, even if they are little things. God always has my back.

  1. A time to build up a time to tear down. You are smart to realize as they tear down it will be fixed and it will be OK.
Hope Jax doesn’t get anxious with the confusion. I hate home repairs but like the end result.

    1. Jax the dog has been pretty good overall. I keep him and our cat Skeeter in my bedroom a couple hours at a time. Skeeter wants nothing to do with the comotion and is a little freaked. Jax is a little more curious but neither of then are happy with the living room full of stuff.

      1. I’m surprised Skeeter just doesn’t ignore it.
That’s a lot of change. We use our quarters for laundry so never get too high. GDter is coming end of month and she loves to roll money. We will tally then.

        1. Yeah, I figured Skeeter would go hide but his pupils in his eyes have been pretty big lately showing me he was either scared or at least being cautious. Usually, nothing bothers him and Jax is he excitable one. I guess they both have done pretty well overall though. Skeeter did decide to go on an adventure and got into the dining room that has the doors covered with plastic LOL. The workers were not there yet, of course. ;-)

          1. I can see where Skeeter would have to investigate. His sleep demands are retaliation showing his displeasure.
