Monthly Archives: August 2017

FREE TIME….

A day off to do some things.  Getting a hair cut, getting with a friend, some house work, catching up on my t.v. programs.

God.

Love.

My son and pets.

A.A. and my church family.  My Bible.

Good music.  I hope I never lose my hearing.  It is not the best hearing but I love hearing music.

I don’t have to school shop.  Actually have not had to since 2012 but I still enjoy the feeling of not having to.

The beautiful lake.

The crisp air outside.

My dog eating right away this morning.  A little Alpo in his dry food helps.

Amazing

Reading a book in a sitting and having it resonate with you. Such a talented author.

Songs you can sing along to.

America’s Got Talent. Amazing voices and creativity. Junk food for the brain but Summer fun.

Sorting through a room so full of things we could have our own rummage sale.

Laughter and upbeat people!

A plan for a meal for the Battered Women’s Shelter. The trio comes through again.

Air conditioners. How did WE go to school without them?

Texting. Reaching out and sending hugs.

Watermelon.Sweet red grapes. Tart raspberries. They sing a symphony when combined.

An idea! Following through! Expecting  good results!

Struggling with Gratitude today. Working. Vacation tomorrow. Grateful for Vacation time available got me. Car that works. Adult children that actually want to see us. New Yarn Ministry at church that members are excited about. Anxious about long time directors leaving….who’s coming,? Hot tea at my desk. See………I got there.

So much to be grateful for…

My son has  grown up to be such a wonderful young man.  He has a big heart. :)

He is going to college and working.

I got to see my grief counselor yesterday and it was well overdue.  I will try not to wait so long next time.

The smell of the air after it stopped raining yesterday.

My dog Jax eating all his food this morning.

Skeeter laying in his usual spot in the sunny spot in the dining room.

God.

My Bible.

Having a little bit of confidence at work yesterday in things I had not before.

My family and friends.

A roof over my head.

My son letting me have a bit of his omelet before he rain out the door to school this morning.

This site, as it is a nice platform to express our gratitude.

Happy Eclipse Day

The world was  looking up yesterday to see the eclipse. Politics didn’t matter for a brief time and as one we turned our eyes to the sky.

Funny glasses. Cereal boxes. Welder’s helmets. Phones in selfie mode. Pictures that make me smile.

I watched on TV. Loved to see the enthusiasm of each city as it approached even if all they saw was darkness.

I wore a round pin and a pair of glasses on my shirt.

Hubby and I solved our technological issue so we went for a Blizzard. Buy one get one for a $1.00. They really do serve them upside down.

A trip to Walmart that wasn’t chaos. In and out. Close parking spot.I like this Walmart!

Seasons are changing.Shadows lengthen though it is beastly hot.

Time to buy mums and pitch some of the hanging baskets. Think I’ll look for purple mums.

Ordering flower bulbs today. Such faith it takes to trust a bulb.

2024 will be a 100% eclipse for Akron. Whoopee! Can’t wait!

Our weekend

A busy weekend. Out to eat. Rummage sale. Church . Hymn Sing. Grocery store.

Good to see Bob and Jan. Our conversations revolve around health concerns.Theirs are worse!

Rummage sale . Fun to buy trash to treasure.

Reorganization this morning. Time to go through clothes.

The worship was a combo of Scripture and song. Went well. Based on the Beautitudes.

Children’s sermon with Steve dressed as a  buzzing busy bee.

Sue with puppet Beatrice explaining how God expects them to be happy not through things but through goodness.

Doing a gratitude list as part of my challenge Why FCC?

What a priviledge to be able to afford groceries.  Three separate trips to the store.

Eclipse day! We will watch it on TV.

1. God
2. On the dock by the riverbank
3. Letting things go
4. A walk on the river
5. A supportive friend
6. Soil
7. Alan brought us lobsters and clams when he returned from vacation;we watered his plants while he and family were gone.

End of a nice weekend……

Relaxing weekend, got a bit done around the house, read, watched t.v.

Great church service today.  Many wonderful people attend that church and when I go there, I feel at home and loved.

Staying sober and nicotine free another day.

God being in my life.

The 12 steps of my program.

Good self-talk tools I have learned.

Being able to set my weight goals and not give up.

I get to go to one or of pastor’s going away party this evening.  Sad to see him go but excited for his and his family’s future.

My son. Love that young man to the moon in back. ;)
