Fun fun road trip to Oregon with Cathy and gson Scott for gdaughter Amanda’s wedding :)
We always smile when we change to Pacific time in Idaho
Thank you God! The weather was absolutely perfect…don’t think we saw a cloud in the sky the entire trip
Beautiful outdoor wedding in a park…ceremony, reception, even a dance floor, sparkling lights around trees…fun and laughs with more family :)
An adventure with city traffic and I-5: Arrived in Portland at 5pm on a Friday…lines of traffic not moving…thank goodness for Cathy’s excellent driving we found a moving lane (otherwise we’d probably still be there LOL)…
…and another night at 10pm from Salem area to Lake Oswego, got turned around because of road construction, zillions of vehicles flying down I-5 (we decided they all knew where they were going) but, again, calm and cool Cathy and navigator Scott, got us back on the right track…we decided it was just another fun adventure :)
Going to OR and returning, we stopped in Washington to spend time with gson AJ and family…loved being with ggson/ggdaughter :)
Hooray! Went to the Oregon Coast….love the Coast! Hadn’t been there for quite some time and used to go often….walked on the beach, savored the fresh ocean air, had lunch at the Sea Hag, whale watching at Depot Bay (the smallest navigable seaport in the world), touristy thing in some of the shops…fun and memories :)
Oh, and we saw a car from Vermont…wow, they were far from home!
On the way home, stayed at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane (google it) an awesome, interesting and elegant place…
…one gson planned his marriage proposal on the mezzanine in the Grand Ballroom and they videoed it for them :)
So there you have it, dear friends, mini vacation with wedding….always heartwarming to spend time with family ♥
aahhh chooo! …. something in the air causing sneezing…it’s been years but perhaps it’s bbaaaccckkkk….dumdedumdum
GPa listening to his DaVinci computer and Zoomtex software magnify, read, and talk to him. Learning about more fabulous new vision aides, one that he can take with him so that he can see a person’s face and read a menu (which he’s not able to do now)
…and…he is so happy with his new wireless head phones :)
Watering the lawn, weedeating and mowing, GPa likes to keep busy :)
Neighbor Luann already sharing her garden by bringing green onions…so good.
David/Deedee moving into their new home at the lake this weekend…it’s been interesting watching the building progress.
Looking forward to two family weddings this summer :)
Sending in our annual summer Green Bay Packer shareholder votes…always a Packer fan!
Furnace was out…1 night without heat but temp was warm 40-45 that night, and we were okay
Gson’s awesome skiing video at Big Sky
Commenting on a lady’s name of “Gloria” and how lovely…she said we don’t see that name often any more….I said that mine was “Jean” and don’t see that one a lot either….she smiled and said, “My middle name is Jean”….fun :)
Talking with a WWII Veteran who is 92….looks more like 72!! A fun guy…he’ll be around for a long time:)
Raking the yard of pine needles and pine cones…great to have it finished
Picture of the Orchid, Flower of the Holy Spirit, amazing!
GPa has me laughing for several days…he decided to do a “MacGyver” and fix some aluminum foil as an “antenna” on the top of his ear phones, to eliminate the static…it worked! He looks like an alien from outer space :)
Rare (thank goodness) excitement in our neighborhood: Police chased a man and woman in their car from downtown and into our area where they abandoned the car…Wow, police with rifles and a canine walking and driving past our home…thought this only happened in the “big cities”… we locked our doors and brought Cookie inside (she’d let us know if anyone was there but, of course, would happily let them in :) …scary when it’s your own neighborhood….the “druggies” got away on foot but they’ll catch them since they know who they are…first time that’s ever happened to us and hopefully it won’t again.
Watching Luann’s cat, YoYo, play…he is big and fluffy and sooo cute…we love him…when he and Cookie meet up in the yard, they accept each other as they are and go on their independent ways.
…first time in years that St. Patrick’s Dayis on a Friday and a weekend…
…preparing for crowds of revelers, even transferring inmates from the jail to make room for people having too much “fun” LOL
Irish population in Butte is (per capita) more than Boston! They say it’s true :)
Went to the VA this morning for GPa’s eye doc follow up…
…while we were there a man in the waiting room was totally unresponsive to a nurse and soon all of the docs from ER ran to help him and half a dozen medical people came to his rescue and took him to the ER. Hope he is okay. Prayed for him.
Loving the beautiful tulips Cathy gave me…interesting colors of pale peach, orange, pink. GPa said we can plant the bulbs.
Happy that my sister is enjoying her new wall tv :)
