They say that friends are angels who hold yo up when you’ve forgotten how to fly.
I could use a little holding up.
My sister (who lives in a nursing home) fell yesterday fracturing two vertabrae in her neck. The blood clot that formed compressed in such a way that her left side is paralyzed. Because of being on blood thinners surgery had to be delayed and consequently the damage will probably be permanent.
People at the ER were so kind even brought me drinks.
The doctors were patient with my many questions.
The nurses in ER realized my role in her bedside care and cooperated and didn’t get frustrated.
The nurse in Intensive Care listened patiently as I explained how to tell she was in pain and how to makeher more comfortable even though I realize in retrospect it is her job and she sees it daily.
My sisters and my nieces were concerned for ME andworried for my well-being when I had to call them with bad news.
My husband was behind the scenes making calls and then making me dinner though I couldn’t taste a bite.
My neighbor listened to me at 7:00 am when I needed to talk.
There are many ways this may play out and I don’t know what will happen.
“Thy will be done.”

~~~~> It may be her job and she may see it every day, but you know each person is different and every little detail that can help take care of a patient better makes everyone’s day a bit easier. Know you’ve done well in helping your sister as much as you could, ME.
