1. Finding a perfect, smooth rock on my morning walk
2. Honest questions
3. Having a friend on the phone just when I needed her level-headed advice
4. Listening to my heart instead of my pride
5. Meeting someone where they are instead of where I want them to be (sounds so obvious when I write it…)
6. A long phone chat with my grandma, and then having rainbow trout for dinner (I associate that with her, since gpa would catch ’em and she’d fry ’em)
7. Recognizing the need to be present, now- instead of getting too excited for tomorrow
8. I finished The Alchemist and it was truly life-changing
9. Telling an honest story without shame
10. “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” -Brene Brown
Belle,
Your comment about telling an honest story really touched me as did your statement about revealing our true selves, being brave and loving the results.
Thank you.
