1. A long, peaceful walk on the towpath
2. All the turtles out sunning themselves in the warm air
3. The blue heron was giving us a show- many bike riders were veering off course to watch the majestic bird fly over the water
4. The geese were so protective of their little goslings, hissing at passers-by and huddling around their little ones protectively. So cute!
5. Shocking red cardinals diving, swooping and playing together
6. I even saw a teeny garter snake laying on the rocks with his head up, getting warm (I am well aware many people wouldn’t put snakes of any kind on their gratitude lists. I wouldn’t want to keep one, but it’s nice to see them out in the wild, doing their thing.)
7. Lilac bushes starting to bloom- one of my favorite scents!
8. Walking by the older gentleman holding a small leather book and muttering to himself. When I smiled and said hello, he said, “I’m just talking to my Lord, I’m not crazy.”
9. Listening to the birds chirp- so many voices from so many directions!
10. “If I had not witnessed the shackles she wore, courtesy of a life lived in fear, I might not have worked so hard to expand my own world in so many ways.” –Christa’s beautiful Mother’s Day post at Carry it Forward
