Our completely restful, rambling day consisted of:
1. The total outrageousness of being awakened at 1:45am (we stayed in the Mohican State Park Lodge last night instead of camping) by the screaming sirens of the smoke alarm. Mark and I both thought it was a) the alarm clock b) the smoke alarm in our room only and c) the whole building was on fire, in that order. (There was no fire, and the authorities had no clue what tripped it.) It was funny watching our totally confused selves try to figure out what was going on.
2. What’s even more hilarious- this is the second hotel we’ve stayed in that had the fire alarm go off late at night! (No jokes, please!;)
3. Popping into an adorable little shop in Loudonville and finding the perfect gift
4. Touring the Warther museum in Dover to see the absolutely breathtaking carving work by Mooney Warther (and one of Mooney’s grandsons made me my very own pair of wooden pliers!)
5. Watching a squirrel viciously defend his position in the birdhouse while we ate breakfast at the lodge
6. Arriving home right before the craziest downpour hit Akron- thank you, torrential rains, for waiting until we got off the road!
7. Finding a card in the mail that touched my heart and made my whole day
8. Encouraging, excited emails about the name change! I’ll be replying tomorrow after I have a full, uninterrupted night’s sleep;)
9. To top off our full day, Mark and I went to see the movie The Adjustment Bureau, which put me in such a good mood I was giddy!
10. “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
