Very grateful for~
~~God’s provision
~~all of the people who write lists on WLD and their commitment to giving thanks
~~the balance brought by answers of “no”
~~people whose gift is teaching with words
~~sitting within the space of wanting to give up and seeing how much more I can take
~~a realization that it is OK to leave things behind
~~refusing the label of “quitter” but realizing that it is ok to quit some things that are not worth finishing or are not in integrity with my soul
~~the inner propulsion to move onto the next thing
~~the excitement terror stunned attention of receiving a pivotal phone call (which I did not pick up) right at the moment of this realization
The reason you stop when you do: you got what you came for. Only you will know what you came for and whether you’ve gotten it. ~ Barbara Sher and Andrea Olson
Wow, Helen! Your list just hit me right where I am living! Yesterday I said no and surprised myself in ways that were terrific! Hooray! And I loved — “it’s OK to leave things behind”, for me I have just moved my art studio and office back home, and as a result have given away over 100 boxes of stuff, and furniture, and it feels great. Still working on it. Your list is really powerful. Thank you.
Helen, what profound thoughts you’ve given us! “It’s okay to leave things behind” is so vital. Thank you! Blessings, Jean
Helen – Thank you so much for acknowledging my post on quitting. Aren’t Barbara Sher’s words wonderful? I’m grateful they found you today. :)
Thank you, Jean and Carol! Andrea’s article was such an eye=opener for me…thank you for your encouragement to me!
