Very grateful for~
God’s gift of a daughter
Amelia’s birthday today
letting my mind wander
having warm soup in the morning
remembering to rest before it is forced upon me by illness
sitting in the space between quitting and letting go, between goodbye and farewell…And the healing needed within it all
Progress. It is happening. I may not see it yet. It may not look the way that I imagine or expect… But it is happening nonetheless.
not pushing so hard
not focusing so much on the outcome
I wonder if the way to approach the things that seem fraught with difficulty is to simply be kind and gentle to ourselves. ~Andrea Olson
Helen, Happy Birthday to Amelia!! I am sure that she knows that you are God’s gift to her! Warm hugs, Jean
Wow! Jean! Thank you! As a mom maybe you feel the same way as I do because Amelia really helped me grow up (even though i was an older mom!)
Happy Belated Birthday to Amelia. And wonderful to read your list, Helen, expression of courage and gentleness with yourself. :)
Thank you, Garrett! As a dad, you know how bittersweet it is to see our kids grow up… a necessary passage made easier when there is birthday cake!
