1. Living in the United States
2. An unbelievably high quality of life
3. Seeing past the end of my nose (and past the borders of my country) to notice how outrageously privileged I am
4. It’s safe to walk down my street
5. It’s safe to drink the water, I have plumbing, I have food
6. I have the opportunity to pursue an education
7. I have access to healthcare in clean and sanitary facilities from professional, well-trained practitioners
8. If I need help, I simply make a phone call for it
9. It is safe to express my opinion
10. Understanding that, as an American, I am the “one percent” of the world. Boy did I win the lottery of life. It’s my great pleasure and responsibility to explicitly appreciate it.
Yes, and being female and living in the United States of America is a total blessing!!! Great list, Lucyanne!! Warmly, Jean
Your list has me nodding emphatically…yes! Thank you for these tangible reminders…especially when I am inclined to complain about creaky, old appliances–I need to remember that I still have them and food/clothes to put in them!
Great list, Lucy Anne! And great comments about your list! I appreciate YOU!
