  • Merry Christmas!
  • Must share this true story about our Christmas Eve:  It was snowing for a beautiful white Christmas.  Our tree was glowing and the fireplace looking warm and nice…all cozy, we were all ready for our family to arrive.  About 5 min. before they arrived…POW!  the power went out!  GPa saved the Eve by getting a coleman lantern from our camping equipment so that we had some light.  We all made the best of things for about 1 1/2 hrs. and remarked how great it was that we weren’t cold even tho the furnace was out as well.
  • When the power came back on, it was heavenly!!  Had a marvelous and fun gathering with lots of laughs the rest of the night!!
  • There were 5,000 homes without power….the lineman who went to repair and rescue everyone found a deer on top of the power pole lines!!  He said he wasn’t certain if the deer had been trying to find his kin, Rudolph….now wait!…hold on…this IS actually a true story… but the lineman said it appeared as though an eagle had picked up the deer and then dropped it…on top of the power pole lines.  He said this was a first for him….but that it happened on Christmas Eve was awesome.
  • Blessings to each of you and your precious families this holiday season!

awakenings and reading

Very Grateful for:

God’s awakenings

The sound of rain upon awakening

Having time to sleep in…but waking up anyway

Sabrina, movies, both the 1950’s version and the 1995 version on tv last night

When Sabrina observes that her dad chose to be a chauffer so he would have time to read

Unwrapping two orders delivered from Thiftbooks that arrived earlier than expected

The sound that the pencil made as it impacts the paper while I wrote this list

Taking time to site, sip hot coffee, and read a book choice, not one assigned

The fragrance coming from the herbs indoors as I water them

“Once the quietness arrived, it stayed and spread…” ~Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things
