a night into morning

Very Grateful for:

God’s love

a night that went into morning because of due dates

a warm scone

a cool morning and soup on the stove

little, fresh herbs dotting the broth

pushing out the professor’s words who said that my writing is weak

the geese and ducks on the lake – their bright orange beaks

orchid tea

brown soil for planting

“The quest for certainty blocks the search for meaning. Uncertainty is the very condition to impel man to unfold his powers.” ~Erich Fromm

  1. I beg to differ! Your writing is powerful! That professor is probably a naysayer by nature! You know you write from your heart and empower other people with your writing! Believe all of us who treasure you and your writing, not some nitwit who doesn’t care if he hurts your feelings!

  2. Thank you, Carol! Your words help me because I have totally psyched myself out because of this professor … and she is a woman– double stab.
Thank you for taking time to write. Your words are important to me.
I just need to believe them.
    Helen

  3. Helen, I’d echo what Carol says, and certainly it is not the case from your letters, blog posts and things you are passionate about. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’ve come so far and accomplished so much!

    1. Thank you for taking the time to write, Garrett. Apparently I don’t have a “doctoral voice” in my writing. But I keep plugging on and you know, maybe there is room for many voices (?)

  4. Hello helen
Kudos. Ignore those who try to dampen your spirit and your love of writing. Follow your heart and your dream

    1. Rose: Your words here are so similar to what my mom would say if she were next to me. Thank you. I must remember your words.
