Those who came before

Yesterday was all Saints Day. As we celebrated at Church by recalling those who were instrumental to spiritual and emotional  growth I began to think of those in my personal life.

My mother who loved me unconditionally and my father who provided for me unconditionally. She taught me to pray. He taught me to listen.

My sisters and their unique relationships with me.

My Aunt Lib. My mentor and my model. She made everything fun.

My Aunt Helen who taught me humor and the value of intelligence.  She challenged to live up to my potential.

Attending “The Quilters” made me look at the strength of the pioneer  women. Their hardships are not modern difficulties. I’m grateful that are lives do not have the dangers they faced. Their faith was inspiring.

I picture my great grand mother lured to the wheat fields because of marriage vows. She was widowed and lost two of her children to influenza. God led her Hudson,Ohio!
