Can’t See The Forest For The Trees

I cross stitched trees all morning and now I need some diversion. Red, white and blue instead of green and brown.

Memorial Day meaningful and reverent. Family gatherings for some. Parades for others. Bless my quiet life. No drama. No obligations.

Flags everywhere. Grateful for what they represent.

Grateful for the flowers I’m planting in my yard and the hanging baskets on my porch. They represent Summer and call for quiet evenings enjoying their beauty.

If it doesn’t get too hot I’m taking a walk under the trees. Might even stop and think how old they are. How they bend in the wind. How they whisper. Home of the free because of the brave.
