1. Aren’t friends amazing? They come in all sizes, ages, backgrounds, and are often chosen family!
2. Some friends check in by phone, email, or even better — in person! Hooray!
3. Friends can be made today, or have been there for you for really really long periods of time in your life.
4. Real friends are not always the one who agree with you all the time, or say yes to all your harebrained ideas!
5. When times are rough, and it’s hard to reach out, friends step in and quietly pitch in to make things better.
6. Often friends can sense when they’re needed and just appear like Angels.
7. I appreciate friends who keep in touch regularly, but also friends who appear at unlikely times.
8. There are 3 friends of mine, and we are “Island Girls” together. We are there for each other for maximum fun times, and also stormy weather. Yahoo!
9. Just ran into a co-worker from over 18 years ago at a concert on Saturday night — how thrilling to find out what’s been happening during all these years. Now we’re Facebook friends already.
10. This place of gratitude is also a friendship place for me. There is a sense of community here as we reveal bits and piece of our lives in our gratitude lists, and make comments on each other’s posts.
“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.”

Carol, great expressions on friendship! I, too, agree that this WLG site is a place of friendships at all levels…a sense of belonging that I had missed when I retired many years ago; I was so blessed to work with great people for years and years and I learned so much from them. Hooray for Friends!! *hugs* Jean
Yes, from one island girl to another, thank YOU for the gift of your friendship. It is all encompassing and loving.
So happy to see you here, my precious Island Girl! We are so blessed, aren’t we?
