8. Fred never took anything for certain when I knew him.  If I asked if we would see each other he would say “God willing and the creek don’t rise.” It reminded me of James 4:13-15.  (Though he said it like “crick,” which made me think “what about the watson”)

9. Practice (I can’t say I practice much besides gratitude these days, and not even that often)
