The Cleveland Vegfest- a whole day of talks, merchants and food, all vegan!
Hearing Ruby Roth give a talk about her children’s books- and the huge backlash they received (woah!) she was hilarious in her responses and really cool about it.
While I don’t try to convert anyone to veganism (I truly believe we should all decide for ourselves what we want to eat) it was really nice to be around a thousand or so people who consume the same things, mostly
The food was amazing! We had wontons stuffed with lentils, chickpea salad, pierogies, and island tacos with mango & jicama
I don’t do well in huge crowds, must be my Montana roots (fewer than 1mil people in a state 3x the size of Ohio) but I practiced staying cool, not getting overwhelmed, and loving the people around me. I didn’t always succeed, but I practiced!
Being home after being out of town is pure bliss
I had an idea that will stretch my learning and planning muscles
And why not? Life is learning, and being willing to fail exceptionally hard :)
Failing is one of my favorite things- because you learn so much so fast, and you tried something new
