I so appreciate . . .

1.  When someone comes into a library with really really squeaky shoes!  They always look innocent and it makes me laugh.

2.  Getting a close-up parking space in bad weather.

3.  Trying on shoes that feel like bedroom slippers.  I don’t care what they look like, I am buying them!

4.  When your tea isn’t too too hot, or too too cold — when it is just the right temperature to sustain warmth throughout the tea drinking experience, but doesn’t burn your tongue.

4.  Finding a new tea to appreciate — pomegranate oolong.

5.  Ordering Pino Grigio wine — it’s so fun to say, and it tastes great!

6.  When someone you loves comes home and the door opens and there they are in all their glory!

7.  When your windshield wipers work well and don’t squeak.

8.  Starting my Spring countdown — 48 days until Spring.  Hooray!

9.  Getting together with my Island Girls — any time, anywhere.

Appreciation for Winter

1.  snowflakes on my blue fur coat – wowzers!

2.  my blue fur coat that is beyond warm!

3.  hugging people when I am wearing my blue fur coat — I bet they think they are getting hugged by Cookie Monster!

4.  footprints in the snow, especially my husband’s because he walks like a duck and his footprints are darling!

5,  being inside with a good book and looking out at snow coming down

6.  when the car gets really warm and cozy

7.  when someone cleans off my car for me — yippee!

8.  snow people — saw an upside down one recently

9.  when the snow crunches when you walk on it — that’s really really cold snow!

10.  when you get “snowed in”, it feels like a vacation day and you can play all day long

1.  laughing club this morning — always a hoot!

2.  returning a library book — so grateful for libraries

4.  making homemade potato soup for my Papa, who doesn’t feel too well

5.  going to babysit Nate and Andrew tonight — always fun

6.  in the 60s today — wowzers!

7.  sent in my sketchbook for “The Sketchbook Project” today

8.  my sketchbook has 34 sunshines in it — Zentangle inspired art

9.  Maria was over last night finishing up her sketchbook — it is fabulous

10.  thousands of sketchbooks go on tour to 17 cities and 3 countries — we’re hoping to get to Chicago to see it

 

 

 

 

 

Various Gratitudes

1.  homemade strawberry jam

2.  teas — especially blended

3.  water — what a miracle, and how blessed we are to have easy access

4.  cheese — on a cracker or off

5.  Canada geese, honking while they are flying (look at us!  look at us!)

6.  Bounty paper towels — yes they are so absorbent

7.  Comet cleanser — used by my Mother before me, old-fashioned, inexpensive and powerful

8.  the sound of footsteps of someone you love coming home

9.  glitter — especially when a bit of it is stuck on someone’s face and they don’t know it (I never tell, it’s too cute)

1. my fabulous dark red amaryllis — my indoor Winter garden beginning with a bang

2. taking my time to find just the right orchids (water them with 3 ice cubes a week – easy peasy)

3. designing different sunshines for The Sketchbook Project

4.  “Cutie” clementines — peelable and sweet

5.  when the G-Sons come over — Nate and Andrew

6.  spending time with my DIL (daughter-in-law), Dyan

7.  “Tangle-A-Day” – Zentangle calendar

8.  dinner at my favorite restaurant (Aladdin’s Mideastern)

9.  being with my Dad – he’s the best

10.  feeling so grateful for family and friends in this New Year — and grateful for YOU, too!

Happy, Happy New Year to You!

1.  Tom and I went to “First Night” in Akron — a downtown extravaganza of fun and celebration!

2.  We saw Hal Walker, one of my favorite musicians — energetic and cheerful!

3.  There were art galleries open . . .

4.  And a tribute band dedicated to Bruce Springsteen.

5.  Then we saw Alex Bevan — I’ve been following him for years.

6.  And ice sculptures in the making — oh yes!

7.  A Beatles tribute band that had the place rocking!

8.  A solid 5 hours of merriment!

9.  Home in time to watch Times Square (it will never be the same without Dick Clark)

10.  Then out the door with a spoon and a pan in a noisy greeting to our neighbors!

Thank you, God, for this past year, and each second, minute, hour, day, week, and month of this new 2013!

2.  my son and daughter who stick by me during good times and rough times

3.  my daughter-in-law who has a huge heart for everyone in her life
