Thankful for Saturday!

1.  The most gentle dental hygienist ever!  Thank you, Mary!

2.  Laughing Club, lots of conversation, then lots of laughter!

3.  Beginning Zentangle class — always fun to open up the world of Zentangles to other people.

4.  Zentangle Club of N.E. Ohio — we had wonderful show and tell and sell.  I got a wonderful laughter Zentangle inspired art from April, and a colorful and exciting piece from Kristin.

5.  Maria, Brooke, and April showed us various techniques for shading.

6.  Ron and Sheila just became Certified Zentangle Teachers!  Now we have seven in our club!  Wow and wowee!

7.  Dinner with my husband, Tom.  A seafood feast at Red Lobster.

8.  To the movies to see “Hope Springs” — what a terrific movie.  Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones outdid themselves — the movie is marvelous!

9.  So fun to have a date with my husband!

10.  A wonderful day to remember —

Gratitude for Play!

3.  Playing with my grandson’s Nate and Andrew

4.  Next Wed. is the day before their school starts, so we are going to have a day of fun and adventure.

5.  My fairy gardens remind me to have a playful spirit.

6.  I love to play with Zentangles – relaxing, meditative, and so creative.

7.  Playing in my garden is fabulous!

8.  I love to go out in the morning in my sock monkey pajamas looking to see if there is a new morning glory to two!  Good morning, morning glory!

9.  Making a collage is fun and also insightful.

10.  Our book group on Fire Starter Sessions is empowering, delightful, and very playful!  Hooray!

 

Gratitude for Fun Activities!

1.  going to get ice cream with grandsons, Nate and Andrew

2.  reading lots of autobiographies this Summer, now a wonderful biography of the fabulous Dr.Seuss

3.  our book club on Fire Starter Sessions by Danielle LaPorte — a wowzer of a book!  It is empowering and fun!

4.  the Akron Symphony free concert at a park – oh my!

5.  seeing fun movies for free at the library — last Sunday was “The Lorax”

6.  tending and observing miracle flowers in our garden —

7.  enjoying other people’s gardens

8.  hiking with my daughter, Maribeth

9.  doing a Zentangle series of sunshines

10.  the millions of baseball games I got to watch when my grandsons did Little League this Summer — kids’ baseball is the absolute best!

11.  going to all kinds of concerts this Summer with my Dad – he’s 95 and appreciates all kinds of music, although when I asked him how he liked one avant garde blues concert, he said it was “voluminous cacophony”!!!!

12.  making fairy gardens, especially last night at a local workshop — miniature roses, a fern, thyme, hens and chicks, a little white bench, a fairy gazing ball, a little lantern, some pebbles, beautiful stones, and a clay piece with “love” on it!!

I think I could make a list of 100 things that have been wonderful about this Summer!  I feel utterly grateful.

Olympic Gratitudes

1.  teams with different languages playing each other, but having the common language of their sport

2.  discovering rhythmic gymnastics — love it with the ball!

3.  so much determination and resiliency

4.  the camaraderie between team members

5.  heartbreaking trips and falls — even training hard for years and years doesn’t guarantee perfect results

6.  so much suspense

7.  when they played John Lennon’s “Imagine” and everything surrounding that, including a sculpture of him

8.  watching the Olympics with my family

9.  all the effort that Great Britain put into pulling off this gargantuan feat!

10.  not only skill, but faith!

Gratitude for Miracles!

1.  flowers – blooming in the Spring, decorating Summer, making Fall festive, and indoor Winter flower gardens!

2.  birds – migrating, chirping in the morning, feeding at the feeder, nests, eggs, fascinating behavior

3.  airplanes – oh my!

4.  automobiles – what would we do without them? (and especially Molly Marie McGee, my red VW Beetle)

5.  brains – I couldn’t be typing right now without one, thinking, talking, moving – wowzers!

6.  food – so many choices! and that it is our fuel!  amazing!

7.  babies – explainable by science perhaps, but the miracle that makes me wonder, if you know that babies are born, how can you not believe in God or Universal force?

8.  telephones – talking into a little receptacle that can take your voice all around the world!  yahoo!

9.  computers – beyond comprehension that I have this unit that gives me access to the equivalent of a trillion libraries and opens up communication in amazing ways.

10. Love!  Kindness!  Compassion!

 

Thank You Therapy!

Sometimes I just say thank you for everything that is in my range until I am done — then I feel terrific and very blessed.  Example — Thank You for:

1.  this laptop which opens up many worlds to me

2.  my training manual which will help me prepare for a facilitator training

3.  my fat blue pen for taking notes

4.  the agenda for our facilitator training

5.  my graph paper notebook

6.  my Natural Balance tennis shoes — my podiatrist tells me Natural Balance shoes are the best

7.  this kitchen table where many adventures have taken place

8.  my chair with a red gingham checked pad

9.  white pants — oh how I love white pants in the Summer

10.  my rainbow watch

11.  my blue and white Hawaiian shirt

12.  the hanging light above the table

13.  my friendly and colorful kitchen

14.  for gratitude which is healing and energizing!

Morning Routine Gratitudes!

1.  Most mornings, I wake up “Roll Out the Carol” in my head!

2.  Then I do the laughing club cheer

3.  Next the “Yoga Breath of Joy”

4.  I am not a morning person, so those get me moving in good spirits.

5.  A cup of delicious tea

6.  Writing my journal on 750words.com – always a good way to start the day.

7.  Renewing my gratitude practice by writing here — makes the day more meaningful for sure!

8.  A tablespoon or organic vinegar in 8 oz. or warm water for the arthritis in my hands — a miracle!

9.  My routine vitamins.

10.  I am ready for whatever this day brings.  Thank you, God, for another day!

Lots of Gratitude!

1.  phone call from an aspiring stand-up comedian wanting to try out his material at our laughing club!

2.  we don’t tell jokes at laughing club, just do laughing exercises

3.  but I told him he could come and tell jokes after laughing club — we will be the best laughers he has ever experienced!

4.  did a presentation on “Loneliness” to a local community center yesterday

5.  having a take-out party tonight for our “Prosperous Heart” group (book by Julia Cameron)

6.  everyone brings their favorite take-out — it’s fun and cost efficient

7.  lots of rain last night — thank heavens, our grass is brown!

8.  my first morning glory bloomed yesterday and I missed it!  but today — ahhhh!  another one, and even deeper blue than last year!

9.  great yellow squash for dinner last night from my Dad’s garden

10.  the Olympics have started – hooray!

Thursday Thankfulness

1.  the plants in my window, cactus and other succulents, and a wild bamboo celebration

2.  walking with my daughter, Maribeth, on the Towpath trail

3.  the cardinals who fly in pairs in our neighborhood

4.  the monarch butterflies who danced in front of my car

5.  hearing Glenn sing last Saturday night

6.  knowing part of my family is having a wonderful time at the ocean

7.  making a Zentangle sunshine cube for my DIL (daughter-in-law), Dyan, for her new desk

8.  Dyan is going to be principal where her husband, Maribeth, and I all went to junior high school! and where her FIL coached

9.  getting together with my Island Girls – Kathy, Linda, and Rose for 1/2 price appetizers at a fancy restaurant – yahoo!

10.  I agree with Belle and say thanks for every breath
