Sunday Fun Day!

Prayer Circle meeting at church today. Besides praying in general, we blessed and prayed over our prayer shawls which we give to people in distress.

Got the updated July version of the Prayer List done and sent out.

Spent the afternoon getting the house ready for my daughter and he boyfriend who were coming for dinner.

Meatloaf with tater tots – a family favorite.

Such a good time being together with cold watermelon for dessert.

Tom’s baseball game got rained out, but I saved lots of leftovers for him.

A wonderful and fun day1

A fun day!

So grateful for such a great day!

Breakfast with Tom at Akron Family Restaurant.

Met Mary Ellen and Tim to see Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny – action packed with lots of Harrison Ford and I like Harrison Ford.

Fixed up the fairy rock garden beside the patio – so much fun! It will be great when the neighborhood kids find it.

Pad Thai for dinner.

Tom fixed strawberries for after dinner.

Did my Haiku poem. Mary Ellen and I have exchanged Haiku poems every day for over a year!

Purpose

A day with purpose
is the best kind for me! Yes!
Fun and intentional wins.

Thankful for Today!

Alexa for Dummies – let’s hope this is helpful

Toni Morrison documentary – powerful

potato chips with dip – a very little bowl

flower and butterfly hand colored tablecloth – done by our book group

blue gingham checked shirt – love gingham

MacBook Pro laptop – my entry to the whole world and beyond

Rose-breasted Grosbeak – oh so very lovely

juvenile Rose-breasted Grosbeak – waiting to be fed

Thank You for Today!

Our visiting minister, Rev. Rose, gave a wonderful sermon this morning. She is wise, kind, and loving.

The members of “High Watch” had a luncheon meeting that was delightful. We do prayer activity in the church, and sit in prayer for anyone who wishes to pray after the service.

A nice, short, but happy afternoon nap.

Our daughter Maribeth and my brother Jeff came for dinner. Tom made his famous spaghetti.

Did some writing in preparation for our writing group in the morning.

Thank you for this day!

Thank You, Wes Anderson!

My friend Dottie and I went to see “Asteroid City” today, directed by Wes Anderson.

We are huge Wes Anderson fans.

Each scene is a work of art – the camera work is amazing.

The colors were bold and saturated.

Of course, the plot was wild and wonderful.

We got the best seats in the theater – with a table.

The concession stand had a bar.

There was a woman theater-goer who was dressed as a Wes Anderson character.

Yippee yo yo YO!!

Gratitude Rocks!

Volunteered today at the used bookstore in the Main Library with my pal, David. We had lots of fun and got a lot of stuff done too.

Bought some books for my Little Free Library – one of them was “The Little Engine that Could”. It’s a true classic children’s book that imparts lifetime wisdom. Sometimes when I feel a bit down, I remember it.

Had quesadillas for dinner with Tom at a local restaurant. So delicious!

Filled the bird suet and seed feeders. Lots of juveniles this year so the seed is disappearing fast!

Made pickled beets and eggs. I love them so much, they’re healthy and fun to eat!

Called one of my friends, Carol #1 (I am Carol #2), to see how she is doing recuperating from double knee surgery. I admire her bravery.
