Tuesday Gratitudes!

Looking out our kitchen window at the birds.

So many juvenile birds this year – house finch, tufted titmouse, cardinal, and rose-breasted grosbeak.

I never get tired of watching birds – so grateful for the opportunity.

Our beautiful birds and flowers tablecloth, colored with fabric paints by our fabulous book group!

Back is getting better after two trips to the Chiropractor.

My calendar is wide open tomorrow – thank Heavens.

Looking forward to the upcoming Wes Anderson movie (Asteroid City). His movies are delightful gems.

Grateful to Mary Ellen who was encouraged by Katherine to post here again. It’s a ripple effect – here I am too! Hooray!

Amazingly Grateful

Starting out this morning with prayer.

Deciding to have a fun afternoon.

Alphabetizing my grandparent names collection.

Researching more grandparent names.

Bubbie – Gaga – GoGo – Gram Cracker – Love – Toots

Big Daddy – Bubba – Papster – Oops – Grand Dude (Paul McCarthy)

I just love these terms of endearment!

New crockpot – new recipe. Barbecued baby back ribs. Oh yes!

Starting to feel possible for the world again after such a long time of feeling impossible too often.

Music these evening with Hal Walker on Facebook live! One of my very favorite musicians.

And counted thread cross stitch as I close out a really good day!

Family Gratitudes!

Having my brother Jeff, daughter Maribeth and her boyfriend Phil over for dinner tonight. Sunday dinners have become a tradition with all of us. And of course, husband Tom was there. Lots of fun and laughter.

Watching our grandson Nate play basketball twice this weekend.

Listening to our grandson Andrew play with his steel drum band at a fundraiser.

Sitting with my son Kevin and daughter-in-law Dyan in the bleachers at the basketball game. Maribeth and Phil were there too.

So grateful for the blessings of family.

Winter Days

So grateful for:

our furnace that kept us cozy in below zero temperatures

4 WD Subaru that navigated so well through snow and ice

our congregation at Unity Chapel of Light in Tallmadge, Ohio who took the burst pipe and extensive damage in stride with community effort and optimism

husband Tom, who is the perfect good-natured and fun person to get stuck in the house with!

this amazing Sunday with temperatures in the mid 50s — oh my!! the neighbors were out with their kids and strollers, making the idea of Spring seem possible!

the coziness that comes with Winter and the fun of expecting Spring!

45 days until Spring! Hooray!

42 Days Until Spring!

Enjoying the Spring countdown again this year.

When anyone complains about the weather, I tell them the # of days until Spring!

We are rolling along!

Tomorrow will be 41 days, and then in a couple of days, we break into the 30s!! Wowee!

Enjoying blooming amaryllis flowers in my indoor Winter garden.

I do enjoy Winter in many ways: snowflakes, crunchy snow, snowpeople, being inside and watching snow falling (keyword here is “inside”), and feeling cozy.

Deep gratitude for my family, friends, and life!! Hallelujah!

Many Gratitudes

Happy Groundhog Day to my friend Mary Ellen!

46 days until Spring! Hooray!

got some wild new leggings – I was late to the game, but hope this trend keeps up!

cruised into a wonderful book store today — no purchases! Wow!

I am so grateful for all the books in my life — 11 bookcases full (and stacks). I donate all the time, but then I also take in more regularly. I guess you could say I am a happy bookaholic!

Working on my book — 101 Fun Things to Do I really do believe that having fun on a regular basis is essential to a good quality of life

Grandsons Nate and Andrew are both in the middle of their basketball seasons. So fun to watch and cheer.

Sometimes I feel like hiding, but I always come out!

Sometimes I just feel like hiding from the world and all its scary events!!

Writing a gratitude list is helpful.

Spontaneous writing in my journal will mellow me out.

Studying the artist, Marc Chagall, taking notes out of a huge coffee table book about him.

“In life, just as on the artist’s palette, there is buy one single color that gives meaning to life and art — the color of love.” — Marc Chagall

Having fresh corn on the cob for dinner will make me so very happy!

Watching my precious birds at the feeder outside my kitchen window.

Sitting by my fairy/gnome rock garden lifts my spirits. Our darling one year old neighbor, Penny, came over to visit and smiled, poked, and pointed at fairies, mirror ball, gnomes, pink begonias, and more. That makes my amazing garden even more fun and wonderful — to get the attention of a darling little girl.

The table cloth on our kitchen table is sprinkled with butterflies and flowers galore! It was hand colored by our beloved book group!!

Varied sizes of white vases that spell out L O V E. Have bright pink daisies to put in them! Hooray!

Ran into my dear friend Laura and her mother at the farm market. Great people watching and lots of fruits and vegetables.

Everywhere I look, I find someone or something that makes me grateful. I need to remember how blessed I am and counter scary world news with hope and compassion. Yikes!
