fuzzy slippers and great visions

Very Grateful for:
God's protection
hearing the cold wind, but being inside
the beautiful designs from the icicles that form
Friday tennis inside
knowing that next week there will be days off
fuzzy slippers
gluten free waffles that don't taste like packing peanuts
belly laughs
prayer
deep breaths

We cannot wait for great visions from great people, for they are in short supply. It is up to us to light our own small fires in the darkness. ~Charles Handy

Very Grateful for

God’s surprises

walking outside my front door this morning … and seeing the trees in the front yard suddenly changed from green to bright orange, red, and yellow leaves

a nap

gingerbread biscotti

a walk with Ruby to see the neighborhood trees with their changed leaves

finding out about the generosity of an anonymous donor

time to read

2 days without driving

finding the fuse box with all the breakers

There is a calmness to a life lived in Gratitude, a quiet joy. ~Ralph H. Blum

minimal delays

Very Grateful for:

1.) God’s grace

2.) a safe flight with minimal delays

3.) an unobtrusive person in the seat next to me

4.) Lori, waiting at the airport (airport pickups are reserved for Herclulean friends, especially to LAX after the events of Friday)

5.) walking the pier

6.) fresh shrimp tacos

7.) a yoga mat at the hotel

8.) waking up to palm trees

9.) and time to read before classes begin

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven. ~Johannes A.

You find yourself attached to your own image; and you find yourself attached to other people’s images. The trick is to become aware of these attachments and to become aware of the impermanence of them. ~Goldie Hawn
