Thoughts after the first week of my second century

What I am grateful for after the first week of my second century~

  7. A pomegranate tree outside my windows
  8. Making it through this climb
  9. Not being at all concerned about making the climb alone, until someone commented on it and my spirit fell like Peter’s while he walked on water.
    10.  Not staying in the place that they were creating for me out of their perceptions of companionship

It is time to go and leave the past. Exile the thoughts of painful memories, you have learned what they have taught you. This is your moment to explore the continent of your dreams and discover the real YOU. ~Dodinsky

A day off…

For these blessings I am grateful~

  5. My neighborhood during a weekday
  6. Running through the sprinklers (again)
  7. The thought, “how great it would be if all problems could be batted away” like the balls from the ball machine
  8. Maybe they can… :)

Something of God…flows into us from the blue of the sky, the taste of honey, the delicious embrace of water….” ~ C.S. Lewis in Scraps

  6. For the possibility that maybe debt ceilings can be raised for people, not just governments? :)
  7. For Frozen Yogurt
  8. For Ruby, who does not care about the things I worry about; she just loves to chase the laser-pointer light
  9. I am learning from Ruby

  8. Brightly colored summer fruits
  9. God is such an abundant Provider!

“Trying excessively to make a point with another may mean that we have not yet made that point with ourselves. I will concentrate today on accepting myself rather than trying to prove something about myself.” ~my friend Letisha

broken china

Today I am grateful,

  1. When a door slammed in anger, I did not do the slamming
  2. Finally the ice breaks: A co-worker spoke to me, three years there and this is the first time
  3. for gloves on teen-aged hands
  4. for tiny hammers breaking china for an art project
  5. for Students Shivani and Noor, who tentatively, then with growing confidence, used the hammers to break the china
  6. for a girls’ chorus of crack-laugh-break-giggle-as the chipped china became repurposed
  7. for the huge smile of joy on Shivani’s face when she announced, “all done”
  8. For God, who never tires of giving us new experiences to break our china patterns of  routine
  9. For God, who repurposes our broken pieces into new vessels of beauty.
