Sunny Daze

  • My plain ole black plastic rimmed sunglasses with large lenses
  • Purchased about 30 yrs. ago, probably at a dollar store
  • They have been with me through everything…OR coastal breezes…MT lake fishing, where they fell into the lake many times only to be retrieved yet again.
  • Misplaced but found…just couldn’t get rid of them…shure ’nuff they were even turned in at a dept. store….certainly no one wanted them!
  • Misplaced several weeks ago
  • Finally set my mind that I’d never see those glasses again !
  • Cleaning out the car today…wedged under the front seat, the glasses smiled and said “Guess Who?!” :)
  • My long lost friend for sunny daze :):)

  • GPa going to Carroll College for a month for the Montana Assn. for the Blind learning and conferences…
  • Some of the low vision people had t-shirts that read: “Don’t follow me, I bump into walls”  … good sense of humor :)
  • Smiled and said hi to the sleeping giant this morning :)
  • Today is my catch-up day
  • Typically Montana friendly service guy came and replaced our oven part…and the charge wasn’t too unfriendly either :)
  • Saturday was our annual Governor’s Cup race…we had to carefully pass the runners on the road while driving
  • The “camp out” on the Capitol lawn…folks actually pitched tents and camped out to promote that activity statewide…fun!
  • Oh! and I won the lottery!  Welllll, sort of, $30 on a “wild card” ticket…not bad for a dollar investment LOL

  • GPa singing “Proud to be an American”…..”God Bless the USA”
  • D’s great news!
  • A proverbial corner office…
  • …even an airplane hanger :)
  • D&D quickly selling their home without having to put it on the market :)

  • Interesting to see and hear Jesse DuPlantis in person
  • “As Time Goes By”…”Play it again Sam”….guess what movie I watched ? :)
  • When I picked up the phone the young man’s voice said “Hi Grandma!”….and “you probably don’t recognize my voice because my nose was broken in an accident…” and he proceeded to tell me a tale about having to go to court and then…..(what I was waiting for since I suspected)…wanting me to send him money:)  When I asked for his home phone number, as expected, he hung up.  Just another scam….I usually don’t allow these people beyond the first word but this caught my attention with the “hi grandma” wondering if it was one of the gsons….and then realizing it was just a scam.  Certainly, there are so many good things for which these people could expend their energy:)
  • :) I always look forward to and am grateful for a soft female voice which says “Hi Grandma!” and which I recognize immediately! :)

Happy Mothers Day :)

  • Thoughts of my Mom….how she wanted her grandchildren to call her by her first name, Frieda, and they honored that…
  • She was widowed and raised two daughters as a single Mom…
  • Had a career as an interior designer…
  • Suggested the beautiful name of her first greatgranddaughter…
  • Remembering those gorgeous purple tulips on her kitchen table…
  • She was a “city gal”… loved dressing to “the nines” :):)
  • Picnics were okay but please no bugs :)…later in life when I was fishing and broke a worm in half for bait, I said please don’t tell my Mom or she’ll come to take me away from all this LOL :)
  • She lived her 97 healthful years always with positive thinking and good thoughts…remember her often saying “Your mind controls your body”….and we’ve all heard that thought presented in many different words and languages.
  • She would have loved We Love Gratitude and all of you special participants with your grateful messages!!

  • Read John Steinbeck’s quote again:  “I’m in Love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection.  But with Montana it is Love.  And it’s difficult to analyze Love when you’re in it.”
