  • GPa actually white-knuckling it when coming upon an unexpected blizzard.

dog days :)

  • Today is 2/13/2013 !
  • Westminster Dog Show…
  • …wondering if some of those beautiful dogs must be groomed daily.
  • Our Alpine Animal Clinic that is spotlessly clean…
  • …and all of the Veterinarians and everyone there are so kind.
  • Pepper’s groomer..the only one she’s had in her 8 1/2 years
  • GPa said he went ice fishing…got 33# of ice :):)
  • Pleasant fragrances that remind us of people, places, events
  • My Mother’s favorite perfume
  • Pies cooling on a window sill
  • The smell of cinnamon rolls pulling us into the local bakery :)

birthday week :)

  • We have family birthdays this week…on the 10th; 12th; 13th; 15th…and…my grandfather’s was the 14th :)
  • Race to the Sky, a 350 mi. dog sled race in Montana
  • Pepper’s grooming appointment
  • The many definitions of Crystal’s “noe”
  • Loving our son’s frequent calls and contact
  • Nationally renowned Native American artist and storyteller, Black Pinto Horse a/k/a Monte Yellow Bird..interesting!
  • Grateful that among his multitude of tools, GPa has a jewelers’ 1/32″ that I can use to tighten the tiny screw on my reader glasses :)
  • Food Network magazines make great cookbooks.

American Horse

  • Our grandson’s friend, Kevin, whose last name is American Horse…
  • …and the many interesting Native American names (certainly with stories behind them) YellowBird, BigThunder..
  • Congrats to the Baltimore Ravens for being the NFL champs!
  • Looking at the half moon which appeared to be snow covered
  • The friendliness of a small town post office
  • The wind and snow “storm” that lasted only 15 min….
  • …with the wind catching our screen door and banging it around a bit
  • GPa going to our small hardware store to get the parts to repair the screen door.
  • Our fragile Pepper schnauzer who thrives on our routines…
  • …and how she waits knowingly and patiently while I have my early morning prayer/private time.

Pets

  • Remembering the unconditional love of a few of fun and interesting pets of family and friends
  • “Wally” .. a Pigeon who walked along with the kids on their way to school and greeted them when they returned..small town USA many years ago :)
  • GPa’s sister’s raccoon, skunk (yep, really), “Coy” dog, half coyote and half husky…
  • …and the time she had a belt wrapped around the neck of a horse and said, “Look what followed me home..”
  • Birds: African Grey…Canaries
  • “Tom” and  “Angel”, fluffy, sweet, huge cats
  • “Penny” puppy, a Dachshund
  • A friend’s two gold fish…”Hono” and “Lulu” :)
  • Sunny, a yellow lab; Scout, a black lab
  • Beautiful black cat: “No name”  
  • Our 15 yr. dogs: “Gretel” our Schnauzer and “Buffy” PoodlePom

red, white & blue

  • Only minus 8 degrees this morning
  • Coats, hats, boots, scarves, sweaters, gloves
  • Red cheeks from the cold..white snow e v e r y w h e r e…blue skies
  • Scrunching of the snow under our boots
  • Slow scrunching of the tires manipulating a parking space
  • Our furnace running all night…grateful that we have heat!
  • Friendly visiting with people who are 49er fans…Green Bay plays them tonight at SanFran…oh my :)
  • Grandson loving his ski competition at Idaho this weekend
  • Crystal Belle’s powerful business women’s group who had fun as dancing divas! :)
  • When life hands you lemons, make lemon meringue pie!
