thankful for all senses

  • Grateful that we live so close to lakes and streams
  • The lake was a mirror…
  • …not even a teensy breeze…
  • …low clouds and picturesque views
  • Cowboy coffee
  • Going back in time listening to old country western songs on the radio
  • Nitecrawlers in my refrigerator (my mother is rolling over in her grave:)
  • Pepper joyfully finding her way along the lake bank and climbing through the sagebrush, grasses and tall weeds..sightless but using her other senses and following our voice promptings
  • GPa is grateful for his new book..a gift! “The Cure is in the Cupboard” by Dr. Cass Ingram
  • Visiting with a friend who just returned from a month in Australia and New Zealand..a wonderful experience!

Springtime in the Rockies…

  • Sleeping giant’s blanket of clouds and snow
  • Heavy wet snow for several hours, most melting
  • Wheatgrass juice
  • Boys playing with their soccer balls
  • GPa making homemade sauerkraut
  • Opening gifts on skype…party!
  • GPa seeing a Bobcat on his school bus route
  • Sinkers..splitshot..hooks..marshmallows..nitecrawlers…
  • …equals rainbow trout? :)
  • Thinking about Carol’s dance of spring!

Praise God! Welcome Home!

  • Praise God indeed for an absolutely p e r f e c t day for our son-in-law and military to come home..blue sky, sunshine, warm (no coat needed)..our beautiful Big Sky Country!
  • Two grandsons being there..wonderful!
  • Yellow ribbons
  • Media
  • Firetrucks, emergency vehicles all in line on the runway with sirens blaring and lights flashing
  • Smiles, grins, smiley faces
  • Happy, relieved families with bursting hearts
  • Tears of joy..yes, GPa’s too
  • GPa visiting with the air force people, remembering, and feeling so comfortable

This is the day….

  • This is the day that our son-in-law can finally kisstheground in the United States of America…
  • …after a year of deployment…soon he’ll be Home home!  Hooray!!!
  • Went to the lake this morning after it had rained and the freshness of the air was wonderful…
  • …the surrounding mountains had some covered with snow and others with patches of snow, so lovely…
  • …visited with two young men who were taking their boat out to catch “whatever fish they could”…
  • …visited with two oldtimer anglers who had been fishing from shore for several hours and hadn’t caught anything, when lo and behold, one of them caught a 3# rainbow trout, an absolutely beautiful fish!  and then another a few minutes later (they told us to stay because we brought them good luck LOL)
  • Here’s one for your bucket list:  If you haven’t been to Butte America on St. Patrick’s Day, you haven’t seen it all…a fascinating experience!

road trip

  1. Daylight savings time…love the extra light as spring moves in
  2. Organic apples, sliced and packaged
  3. Home grown wheatgrass, juiced and soooo good for you
  4. Cathy’s “1,000 Vegan Recipes”
  5. Having all ingredients on hand for a new recipe
  6. The person I talked with at the bank also makes a daily gratitude list…a lot of good energy circulating!
  7. Road trip with Cathy…beautiful summer-like day
  8. Shopping in the BX at the Air Force base..and feeling so safe
  9. Getting GPa a new U.S. Air Force cap
  10. Beautiful rivers and gorgeous canyon on our trip…saw a fly fisherman and others fishing from a boat.

man power

  1. Garrett’s “girl power and woman power” reminds me of the man power in my life, all the wonderful men who are good, kind, the best!
  2. Cali’s birthday…Happy Birthday to all who have birthdays today!
  3. The “little darlin’s” on GPa’s school bus and their wonderful innocence of the world around them.
  4. Pepper’s bountiful energy, especially in chasing her tennis balls.
  5. LOL…My comfortable faded blue jeans with the worn patches and holes on the legs…planned to throw them away until someone told me similar looking $400. jeans are in the shops on Rodeo Dr. in L.A….I might keep them for awhile! ROFL!
  6. Being able to talk to a live person when I had a question at our bank…a really nice person!
  7. Our snowbird neighbors coming back home from AZ a month early this year.
  8. Another neighbor finished with her chemo, is feeling great, and couldn’t wait to grab her car keys and head down the road again!
  9. Taxes finished and sent :)
  10. God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him.

  • Happy Birthday GPa!
  • Pepper going to the beauty shop…she’s had the same sweet groomer for her more than 7 years.
  • The most beautiful beautiful Bichon at the groomer’s…this one was a medium size and looked like a pure white fluffy cotton ball…adorable!
  • Carol’s abundant energy…Wow!!!
  • A tree in our son’s yard was blown down by the wind…he was cutting it up with a chain saw (as he has done a zillion times) and the chain saw accidentally grabbed his leg just above the knee…he has 9 stitches…
  • …he is training for a marathon in June but plans on being there and participating…gratitude that his injury is recoverable.
  • Noticing our neighbors’ veterans caps with the military insignias..and also all of the veterans license plates (Gpa’s included)
  • GPa getting his driver’s license renewal
  • Steve Chandler’s “Fearless”…Creating the courage to change the things you can.
  • A hug is a great gift…one size fits all…it can be given for any occasion and it’s easy to exchange.
