About Karen Teig

I am a 58 year old Native Minnesotan. I work as a Storekeeper at a local hospital here in town. I have been sober since April 18, 1982 and have not smoked since September 8, 2005. I am a Born Again Christian who loves Jesus and am grateful for each day I wake up. Life is really what I make of it, with few exceptions. God always has a plan.

God is good.

  1.  An unknown friend sending me a sweet note and money inside the note.  They did this after I lost my wallet last a week ago yesterday. <3  God is so good and I am lucky to have the people I have in my life.
  2.  God helping guide me through the past week.
  3.  Love in its many forms.
  4. My family and pets.
  5.  Although it was windy as all get out, no snow the past couple days.  Now I just have to keep my roof hanging in there till I can get a new one.
  6.  Good t.v. programs that make me cry and laugh.
  7. Feeling my feelings this past week and getting it through it all.
  8. Good music.  It is an awesome therapy.

Sunday

A day of rest after church.

Groceries are bought before the storm.

Good friendships I am making through church.  If you would have asked me before my husband’s death would I have the connections/friends through church I have today, I would have not believed it.  Very grateful. :)

A roof over my head, even if it needs lots of work.

God.

My son.

Staying sober another day and not smoking.

A great church service this morning.

Hot comfort food. :)

Life goes on…..

1.  God giving me strength during hard times.

2.  Although I lost my wallet on Monday, I had a good friend take me around and take care of some business on Tuesday.

3.  Cancelling my debit card and credit card on Monday.  Thankfully I did it before anything was charged on either of them.

4.  Beautiful day outside today.

5.  A great Bible study last night.  I love these women.

6.  A busy day at work but I am grateful to have a job.

7.   Looking forward is getting less scary.

8.   Staying sober and nicotine free another day.

9.   My dog Jax feeling better.

10.  My son getting home each night safe.

11.  Family and friends.

12.  Friends that are like family.

13.  The beautiful lake, even though part of it is frozen.

14.   Good books bought at a sale at work the other day.

15.  My cat’s cute face.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Lots of snow to clean up but it looks very clean and pretty.

Not having to trudge through the snow to catch a bus to work today.

Church is cancelled but am grateful for such a caring church family.

My dog, Jax, seems to be feeling better each day.

Good, old programs such as Perry Mason to watch on a day off and relax.

God.

My Bible.

A.A.

My job and my wonderful coworkers.

The opportunity in life to make new friendships if  let myself get out there and I am starting to again.

Having had a love of my life for almost 25 years through all the ups and downs but I am grateful to have had him.

A warm house, even with the leaks of air here and there.  Better than living on the streets.

Pizza LOL.

Believing that I am worth having a good life and being willing to do God’s work with gratitude.

Recovering….

God.

Recovering from a fall on the ice this past Sunday.

Sore body but at least I can feel.

My bible study buddies.

Good coworkers.

A.A.

Feeling like I might be able to love again, but time will tell.

My grief support group and the friends I make there.

Patience when I need it.

My Bible.

Peace.

2-16-18

A day off from work. Very nice.

The luxury of having an A.A. meeting so close to my house that I could attend last night and see old friends and enjoy the recovery in the room.

A sunny day, albeit cold again.

My dog, Jax, snoozing by my feet.

God.

A.A.

Quiet time to read my devotionals.

Waking up sober and nicotine free another day.

An old A.A. friend offering me a ride home last night even though I was just about a block and a half away.  Thanks B!

A good cup of coffee.

That although I have aches and pains, at least I can feel them.  I have known some that are not so lucky and they are either in a wheel chair or dead. :(

Love, in its many forms. :)

Heat in my house.
