So grateful this morning.

Beautiful morning, and my only problems are problems of abundance. Too many wonderful people in my life to find enough time to be with all of them. Too many wonderful projects to work on to find time to do them all. Too much gorgeous basil still leafing out to eat it all — even my neighbors have had their fill!

I am rich in joy!

Another beautiful morning!

The buttermilk sky outside my window reminds me that I can’t predict what gifts of beauty the world will spin up each day to delight me. I grew up under the ever-changing skies of South Louisiana, where the unpredictable rain trained us to always keep an eye on the state of the clouds. Spending my adult years in Southern California’s nearly cloudless skies, I have missed the grandeur of the ever-changing patterns of clouds and shades of blue and grey. Today I start my day delighted at the picturesque sky, grateful for the surprise of God’s art on display.

I am thankful that today is a long work day. The last three days, I’ve had the privilege and the joy of being of service to neighbors and friends.  I am looking forward to uninterrupted work and crossing lots of small and long-neglected items off my list, so I can clear my desk and mind for a new project.

Thanks, all, for being part of this grand group!

So lucky!

I’m so lucky to have such wonderful neighbors! I am so grateful that the great good universe brought me to this place where I live and gave me opportunities to be of service and opportunities to need to rely on the kindness of my kind and generous neighbors. We are a small, loving, close-knit community of people who care for each other in good times and bad. I am so blessed!

I’m grateful for the blessing of this new community where I can practice the grace of gratitude each morning.

Thank you to all who work to make this possible!

Thank you, Crystal, for the warm welcome!

I am so happy to find this group and join you. This morning I am grateful that, in the last week, I am beginning to feel a deepening acceptance of and peace with a twelve-year-long life-altering illness that ended three years ago. I am grateful that, this weekend, I had a chance to reconnect with a very dear friend who has been out of the country and also to meet his parents and welcome them into the circle of our friendship. I am grateful that the hard work I’ve done to put my world back in order and rebuild it is beginning to bear fruit; I was able to welcome my friend’s parents into my home, which is now a place of order, peace, beauty, and light. Thank you all!
