What a Happy Day!

tutored a couple of my 4th grade students this morning

we used a kid’s dictionary – a real one, not online – I love dictionaries

went to a presentation on downsizing this afternoon with my friend Mary Ellen at a local library

when we came out there were lots of carts of free books, so much for downsizing! I am a bookaholic!

I left with a bag of books and an armful!

I have a Little Free Library in my yard to keep full

then Mary Ellen and I went hiking. we saw:

a great blue heron fishing

Canada geese swimming

a huge snapping turtle splashing around

May apples blooming

a young man fishing – he caught a big bass

and then, as if my day were not good enough – Tom cooked dinner!

Dear God – thank you for the privilege of days like this!

High Hopes

Ant in the bedroom has me singing about an ant who wanted to carry a rubber tree plant-Oops there goes another rubber tree plant.

But time to be grateful for vacuum to sweep crumbs up and  ant traps as my bedroom is not for them.

Sunshine and lawn mowed. Hope storms aren’t severe tonight.

Getting errands run early before the rain.

Grateful for lactase so I can eat dairy. Grateful drugstore has it as I’m out.

Pool full of women makes me think everyone wants to shape up before Summer.

New to me swim suit fit. Second one will ! ((Stop eating chocolate Jif!)

Wonderful eulogies for friend’s funeral yesterday. She had to overcome    difficulties and thrived.

Find some beauty today and stay cheerfuk!

A Terrific Day!

the sermon at church was powerful and got a standing ovation!

today was the last day for collecting donations for the Hunger Walk

I only had $50 and I was a little concerned

and then WOWEE, person after person handed me cash and checks!!

later when I counted it, I was amazed to find we had collected $500!!!!

that’s the most we ever raised – Yippee yo yo YO!

I have been having a little knee trouble, so I was a little apprehensive about walking

but I made it for the one mile walk – Hallelujah!

then I wrote an article on affirmations that I really like

Tom went out to get our favorite take-outs – El Meson Cinco de Mayo

I am so grateful for this day of wonderment!!

May 5, 2024 – 12:05 p.m.

Church service that was lovely as always this morning.  God is so GOOD.

The beautiful day outside.  Loved seeing Laker Superior with the sun cascading off it when I walked home today.

A good pizza.

A wonderful time with my son yesterday at the Twins baseball game.

Dinner with my son.

Just getting out of town was wonderful.

A wonderful vacation.  I am sad it is coming to the end but grateful to have had it.

Naps in the middle of the day when I am off.

Good coffee

Chatting with my boss.  She was at a Rock concert not far from where my son and I were yesterday.  She was starting her evening as we were headed back home to finish ours.

We Say Hallelujah

Tulips bursting into flowers and flowering trees against green grass.

Book I’m reading. I love every line. In awe of powerful writers.

Words bouncing around in my head. Is there a story there?

Child who calls to say “hi”- love to be needed.

Music to soothe my soul. Lyrics to commiserate my mood.

Peanut butter with chocolate on a shortbread cookie. Definitely not as healthy as an apple .

But I’m having it on an apple tomorrow.

Thrift shop closing. I have memories of that place. I will miss it and  always remember that the dress I bought for my child’s wedding was found there.

Two new swimsuits for what I would pay for one.

May 4th be with you! Hallelujah!

May 4, 2024 – 7:20 a.m.

God.

I get to go to a Minnesota Twins baseball game with my son today!

Good news programs to watch on my days off.

It is damp out there today but we have needed the rain after a Winter with substantially less snow than the previous Winter.

Grateful we are not getting the weather that Texas is going.  Lots more rain and also tornados.  Praying for the survivors.

Bible plans.  Getting back into them.

My vacation is coming to an end, but I am grateful for the time off.  I could get used to being retired LOL!

I GET to go back to work on Monday.  Although I say I could get used to be retired, I am grateful for a job to pay my bills.

Music videos on YouTube.  I watched a couple full concerts of the GoGo’s from 2001 this week.  It is hard to believe those girls ages range from 65 to 70 years old now.  Three of them are completely clean and sober too.  Grateful for a way to go back and watch these ladies.

I walked for 1 1/2 hours yesterday up in the park along the river and down near Lake Superior.  Feeling it a tad in my feet today as I have not walked this long outside in a long time.  Used to it at work, being on my feet all day, but not so much outside.  Grateful for my new hip, or I could not do this.

Good music.  I have Tinnitus 24/7, so have to watch how loud I listen, or it affects it some days.  Grateful for the hearing I have left to enjoy my music.

Good food all week.  New pizza and warm homemade bread and warm olives were tried tried this week.  I am a creature of habit, this vacation was one of trying new things.

I am upright, breathing, walking and talking today.  Thanks be to God.

We Are Glad

Hymn learning at Church is called We Are Glad. Glad I’m starting to hit a few of the notes right.

Not raining yet. I am glad!

Hubby going with me to run errands. We Are Glad!

Many roads to get where I’m going-I am glad.

A long conversation with an old friend- I am GLAD!

Spilled the blueberries out of the fridge- have another container-I am glad!

We are glad because the Lord has done great things for us!

May 3, 2024 – 8:55 a.m.

God.  Talking with God in the morning starts my day off right.

Time off to slowly wake up and enjoy my day.

Being able to call a friend/coworker who retired from work about 3 years ago and wish her a Happy Birthday.  Grateful we have maintained contact since she retired.

YouTube and other social media.  It is amazing how much good info you can find.  The drama and the negative posts/videos I can just pass on by.

Beautiful morning on the lake shore.  It started out foggy but the sun is peaking out and hopefully will burn off the fog.  At any rate, it is a good day.

The News.  I know there are news stations that people do not like, but I do love my local one I watch in the morning when I am off.

Family Feud!  Still love that show!

String cheese and raspberries. :)

People who make me laugh.  Thankfully, I have many.

Another day I am not drinking or smoking.  Life is GOOD!

May 2, 2024 – 12:35 p.m.

Great live music at our local brewery last night.

A good night’s sleep.

Putzing around and getting my dining room table (which is a free fall) slowly cleared off.

My sister-in-law Patty and our conversations this past few days.

Dreary day, but I am alive and that is what matters.

Nice people I meet during my day to day life.

God in my corner every day.

The Maple tree is slowly getting buds on it.

The grass is getting greener.

Time off to contemplate life, rest up and just enjoy time away from work.
