Late Summer Gratitude

1. An absolutely lovely lunch with a dear friend!
2. We were talking so intently we didn’t feel the earthquake (!)
3. The nicest postman you’ll ever meet told me about it about half an hour later
4. My husband said he felt it, in the building where he was- everyone was shocked!
5. So far, no injuries reported- hooray!
6. I crossed off everything on my to-do list today
7. And spent time outside in this absolutely perfect weather
8. And went for a walk with my wonderful husband
9. I love watching the leaves juuust starting to turn
10. “This was one of those perfect New England days in late summer where the spirit of autumn takes a first stealing flight, like a spy, through the ripening country-side, and, with feigned sympathy for those who droop with August heat, puts her cool cloak of bracing air about leaf and flower and human shoulders.” -Sarah Orne Jewett
