Summer Getaway

W.e went up to Lake Erie for four nights just to decompress and getaway.

Cottage was much nicer than I thought. It actually was a small condo.

You could see Lake Erie from the back porch.  could hear it the morning it was rough.

Went into Port Clinton everyday. Nice town ,friendly people.

The lighthouse at Marble Head showed a view of Cedar Point across the bay but that’s not what this break was about.

Finding you’ve packed way less than you’ve planned but finding there was a washer and dryer so it was Ok.

Eating so much food. Not much to do but eat and take a drive now and then. Put on 7 lbs.

I slept all of one afternoon. I didn’t realize how tired I was.

Read two books What bliss!

Now back to reality! Labor Day is right around the corner.

Really good things

An evening spent with good friends, who shared advice, laughter, support and love.

A caring, kind, patient partner

Our evening tradition of watching Indians baseball on TV, with numerous channel changes when the Tribe is not playing the best.

Watermelon for lunch, peanuts for a snack.

The morning coconut oil swish

Enjoying the best roasted corn ever… Don’t ask how many ears of corn I ate!

Smooth and creamy homemade ice cream

Toasted marshmallows…  oooey, gooey, yum!!

A fun evening photo shoot, in an orchard, with a wonderful photographer.

When people look at the finished photographs, so many say they can see and feel the love that Dave and I have for each other.  I’m so glad!

No matter the prison, you can be Freed by Gratitude. ~Ann Voskamp in this post

So grateful

  1. The book Zen Comics arrived in my mailbox today courtesy Garrett- what a perfect surprise! Garrett is truly a master librarian! I love it! It is such a beautiful bridge between everything I’m interested in right now.
  2. I’m also a huge fan of Zen Pencils, an online comic, and a new one was posted today that may make you question life a bit  :)
  3. Humor, and what makes it work
  4. Walking to the little farmer’s market stand with my daughter in her red wagon, so fun
