Waking up early to the beautiful sunrise and getting started with my day early on a day off.

Watching my local news gal and weather gal on TV.

Seeing my son home safe even though he did not get home till 2 a.m. and had to work at 6 a.m. OOOPS!

Watching my dog Jax and cat Skeeter do their usual morning routine of chasing and harassing each other.

Warmer weather, even on the lake shore today.

God.

My step-son for helping out with mowing and trimming my lawn and also taking my lawn mower to fix it.

Quieting my mind.

Still having 10 days of my 16 off. ;-)

Another sober day.  Thanks God and A.A.

About Karen Teig

I am a 58 year old Native Minnesotan. I work as a Storekeeper at a local hospital here in town. I have been sober since April 18, 1982 and have not smoked since September 8, 2005. I am a Born Again Christian who loves Jesus and am grateful for each day I wake up. I have found that even in the hard times, like after my husband's suicide that I can still find things to be grateful for, even if they are little things. God always has my back.

  1. A.A. was getting ready to meet when I was finishing up cooking at Church last night. Most were outside smoking so being sober and smoke free ,I commend you. Hubby is an ex-smoker and I know he wanted a puff then.
Enjoy every minute of your ten days . It sounds like your son is. Funny I could never relax till I heard them come in.

    1. Yeah, he has been out a lot with friends lately and that is okay. I want him to live life and enjoy. He deserves it. A lot of the A.A. meetings are in churches here and so have been smoke free for years.
