Grateful choices

Grateful for the cooler temperatures.

Up and at’em. Grateful that I am upright and ready to go.

Today I will make healthy food choices.

Watermelon is healthy.  Who’d have thunk it?

Salads are more than lettuce.

Drinking more water. Glad I don’t have to walk a mile to get it.

Grateful I found a pair a jeans that fit.

Cool enough to plan a walk tonight.

The feeling like I’m beginning something.

Grateful to have found clear calamine. Now that it is cooler I expect the itches to go away.

Thunderstorms

Grateful that the thunderstorms of life and in life take so many forms. Literal ones that are gray, silver and white clouds accompanied by sheeting rain and wind. Visible signs of God’s glory and power. Others are more intangible, things in life that don’t go your way, decisions you don’t want to make but ultimately have to. Both will wash you clean and leave you newborn, vulnerable and needing to *move* ..somewhere different than where you are. The Gratitude enters here. Grateful for new opportunities that you didn’t know you needed or wanted. Nothing bad, just different I’m still in process……I’m grateful for my thunderstorms.

Realizations

I am grateful that I have all that I need and someone to share it with.

Music directors play  song in service we were working on  when they announced their move.

Doing the Community meal with many donations but no crew.

Hot dog buns, Hard to find Father’s Day weekend!

Grateful to be of service to those who needed a meal or a cool place to eat one though many took theirs to go.

Hubby loved daughter’s tribute on Facebook to her Dad.

Hunting for gas when we thought we would get it cheap but gas station ran out. Thankfully we made it to another gas station even though we had to go around an area with a water main break.

Grateful for friends ,family and the felines who own us!

My son getting home safe last night.

My dog, Jax, as he enjoys lounging on the couch.

A new day that God has given me.  Thanks God!

Sobriety.

A job to go to so I can pay bills.

My awesome church.

The beautiful maple tree that gives us shade in our picture window.

Looking to the future!

I am starting my weight loss plan today.  Very excited and a little scared at the same time.  Grateful for support, however.

I got to see my step-daughter running by my house as she and a friend ran a full marathon.

I got up at 6:30 a.m. to start my plan and feel better for not sleeping in too much.

My son’s best friend’s mom for driving my son home after he had too much to drink last night.  He would normally walk the block and a half rather than drive but she saw he was not doing well with that either and rescued him while I was sound asleep.

God, for looking over my son and putting the right people in his life.

Good food that I will be eating.

Waking up sober and nicotine free another day.

I get to start my old schedule this coming week at work and won’t be up at 4:30 a.m. like last week.

Although I miss my husband and my dad on Father’s Day, I know they are at peace in heaven.

This site as it truly is awesome.

Happy to be off today, as while I was working an early shift at work, I forgot some days to post my gratitude list. :(

Grandma’s Marathon running by my house, something I have enjoyed watching since childhood.

God.

A new person to help get sober this week.  You can’t keep it unless you give it away, they say. ;)

My brother who comes and watches the marathon most years with me.

Patience when I needed it at work this week.

My dog, Jax, and my cat, Skeeter.

My son. :)

My step-son for coming out and mowing my lawn last night and for working on my lawnmower to tray and get it started.

Sobriety and God.

Ibuprofen for my sore knee.

Survival

Grateful for work, despite the drama and difficulties. I have achieved the age that the paycheck is the least of the benefits. Grateful for enjoying grandkids in residence for 48 hours without incident. Grateful for Pappy and his patience and good suggestions. We are still a good team. Grateful for children who have grown up well.

Blessings

Bandaids. ( I love ones that stick.)

Clean laundry. (Happy underwear!)

A cool shower.

Clean sheets. Fresh towels.

New bracelets by Sashkaco.com. Empowering women of Nepal to beat poverty.

Finding just what I need online. Finding something I don’t really need but will love.

New wallpaper for bathroom.

First day I’ve worked in a while. I am grateful my rash hasn’t spread. I will be truly grateful when it goes away.
