Opening Night! I’ve got butterflies which surprises me as we had an audience of nursing home residents ,veterans and others for dress rehearsal.
Singing “He is the Rock” to warm us up. 35 voices raised in praise!
Carol and Dennis from Laughing Club are here . Right where I make numerous entrances! If I make eye contact, I’ll giggle and not be able to stay grim.
Jamie and Becca are here . I sneak a shoulder squeeze in as I’m dancing down the aisle.
I played the scene with Herod so mean, glaring at the audience. What fun!
So much talent in this Church and such a range of age and stage ability. Everyone gave 111%!
Laughter the best reassurance that the audience gets it. Solemn silence proof that they are moved.
Thank you, Harry Chapin for writing the music for this play before your untimely death a year later. Every song is a masterpiece!
Choreography and movement that make the scenes pop!
And guess what?I get to do it again tonight and then again tomorrow!
I once read that Harry Chapin had written music to a play called Cotton Patch Gospel and I thought I’d like to see that. Be careful what you wish for!
MaryEllen, what a talent you have!!! How exciting!! Hmmm, was going to say Good Luck but I think the thespian term is “break a leg” :)
Smiles, Jean
Hooray for your great performance! What great descriptions you gave! I could “see” it so clearly in my mind! So proud of you and excited for you!
