Awareness

Walking with your head up ,you may not find a penny but you will see the flowers.

The flowers are every color of the rainbow.

A squirrel and I came face to face. Once he decided I meant no harm ,he went back to his task of carrying a mushroom.

Summer walks in a misty drizzle

Grateful for my safe neighborhood

Don’t waste your present

I was given a gift today of a day off. The temptation is to sleep a while longer but how wonderful to climb into bed tonight knowing I have checked some things off the list.

What am I grateful for? Let me count.

Internet I remember encyclopedias .Just imagine I can look up a subject and print it out.

I can look up the restaurant I’m stopping at and check their hours ,their menu and location.

Social media I know to pray for Jerry who is ill

Lots of weddings this weekend Lots of pictures to prove it

Emails can bolster a flagging spirit, announce a meeting ,get info and wish a Happy Birthday

Planning a trip to the rec center. Get it moving!

The river is calling me perhaps I’ll wander there.

This is my present I will use it with care.

No coffee! (Jimmy’s was a coffee shop)

Remembering our excitement ten years ago as Jane and Dave married

My oldest client has her house up for sale . I’ve cleaned for her weekly for 25 years. Grateful for the steady money and the friendship. We were reminiscing.

Out to dinner tonight with couple who were in our wedding. Grateful for Parasson’s. Good food always!

Only 42

I took our anniversary casually this year saying its only 42 till someone said you may not hit 43. So a shout out to a not a perfect marriage between two flawed people that seems to work.

Grateful for all the years. All the memories.

Talking to my grand daughter who observed you’ve liked each other forever and that’s a form of love.

Friends who are taking us out to eat tomorrow though they’ve had a hard year

Out to eat . Hard to find someplace new but we did and it was good.

Brought home pie to have later in the evening. Pecan for hubby. Ooey Gooey Caramel for me.

Grateful that my parents had a good marriage. Companionable peace filled my youth.

Hopeful that the skies will clear and we’ll get out to to see a meteor or two.

Generous people

Today I’m heading to Good Neighbors with donations from Church of school supplies. They will distribute them so kids can start school with new things.

Grateful for people who share their time, talent, energy and resources.

All those who give just a little. Together we can make a difference.

For our records I had to count. Sixty boxes of crayons.Fifty glue sticks. Thirty five packages of pens. Fifteen rulers.

One scientific calculator meant we had some of all the items.

Eleven backpacks!!!

Someone included hand sanitizer though it wasn’t on the list. Love thoughtful people.

Having to make two trips to deliver it all.

Imagining the relief of the parents and the excitement of the kids.

School starts next week. Many thanks to the generous people.
